Skills · Claude Code · Base

The shared base — what repeats across the stack.

The house's language-agnostic engineering standards: architecture/DDD, MAP+graph+endpoints, server-side security, data/events, supply chain, observability, operation, DoD and archive. The language skills (go/rust/web/node) specialize this base.

Non-negotiable floors

Never switched off "to go faster". Full list in the skill.

Security by design

Secrets never in the client, parameterized SQL, server-side auth/authz, tenant in the WHERE. Errors never swallowed.

Exhaustive MAP + graph

An index with one entry per function (entries == functions), service and call graphs, and the endpoint map. Enumerates, doesn't summarize.

Archive + DoD

Every delivery writes an .md to the archive; nothing is "done" without tests, observability, an updated index and review.

Workspace containment

A new app/repo is born inside the project folder; no climbing up a level or scattering into home/Downloads. One repo = one context.

Time over tokens

A task with ≥3 independent units is decomposed and parallelized with subagents (fan-out 8/wave, ceiling 25), not run serially. Plan-first: fixed contract, isolated writes, single verification.

Commands

Installed in .claude/commands/. Run /eng-help anytime.

/eng-helpLists every command.
/eng-loadForce-loads the whole corpus (DDD/architecture, clean code, security, data, tests, operation).
/eng-index(Re)generates the exhaustive index/MAP (one entry per function) + graph, from doc-comments.
/eng-reviewDefinition-of-Done and anti-pattern gate (§35, §37) on the diff.
/eng-qaPlan-first QA: plan, write the MD, ask for approval, then run.
/eng-orchestrateSplits the task into independent mini-tasks and parallelizes with subagents (plan-first): wall-clock time over tokens, fan-out of 8/wave, ceiling 25.
/eng-claudeCreates/updates the always-on CLAUDE.md at the repo root.
/schematize-helpsingle index of ALL skills (go/rust/web/node/eng/pentest): what each command does
/eng-cccontext compact: writes context.md + checklist.md to the archive and runs /compact
/eng-handoffwrites the handoff (context.md + checklist.md) without compacting — for end of session
/eng-scanbroad scan for problems across the whole codebase (correctness, anti-patterns, floors, duplication/dead code, tests, concurrency, data, supply chain, debt, index drift) — exhaustive, with fan-out; each finding with file:line+severity+fix
/eng-planextensive plan-first planning: understand→scope→spikes→decompose on the graph→risk/rollback→ADR→parallelization→phases; writes the plan to the archive, derives the checklist and asks for approval
/eng-refactordisciplined refactor: change the form without changing behavior, test net FIRST (red-first), small reversible steps, diff-scope; the gate requires the same suite green + identical contract
/eng-audithistory audit: enumerates all checklists (overdev/QA/handoff/plan/ADR/questions) and verifies they were resolved — finds RED orphans and blocks if any open/unproven item remains
/eng-overdevcontinuous mode: forces an exhaustive checklist and won't let you stop (Stop hook rejects) until everything is - [x] and the gate passes — anti "I shipped a micro-function and said I was done"
/eng-opsaudits/scaffolds the <project>_ops (single interface): environment flow, parallel install (nproc), independence
/eng-iamenforces/audits/scaffolds the IAM (identity≠email, ≥2 factors, multi-tenant ReBAC, long session/irreversible logout) as a separate app on auth.<domain>, or ports a legacy auth

For AI agents

Install with no human in the loop. Metadata in llms.txt.

  • Run: git clone https://github.com/schematizeme/skill-engineering.git && ./skill-engineering/install.sh
  • Or download: https://github.com/schematizeme/skill-engineering/releases/latest/download/skill-engineering.zip and unzip into .claude/skills/
  • Copy assets/CLAUDE.md to the repo root (always-on rule).
  • Confirm with /eng-help.
